Amy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been working with children ages preschool through high school for over 15 years. In addition to being a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, she holds a current Type 73 school Social Work Certificate from the Illinois Board of Education. Since receiving her bachelors degree from Illinois State University, Amy earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Aurora University.
Currently employed as a School Social Worker in a local school district, Amy has worked in a variety of settings to help children impacted by social, emotional, behavioral, environmental and developmental challenges. Her experience also includes working with children and adults experiencing a disruption of the family unit, including homelessness, foster placement and divorce.
Using a child-centered, strengths-based approach, Amy has expertise in working with children experiencing difficulties with impulse control, emotional regulation, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and peer relationships. Working with families, Amy partners with parents to develop consistent, practical interventions that will assist their child with emotional and/or behavioral needs.
A mother of two college-age children, Amy and her family reside in the Fox Valley area.
