Kristin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Kristin received her Bachelors Degree from Elmhurst College, and obtained her Masters in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago, with a specialty in Children and Families. Kristin maintains a Type 73 School Social Work Certificate from the Illinois State Board of Education, and is also employed as a middle school social worker.
Kristin specializes in working with youth 6-18 years old within a therapeutic setting who may be struggling with: anxiety, depression, self- injury, suicidal ideation, mood disorders, school refusal, low self-esteem, and an inability to cope with daily stressors. Kristin uses a client-centered, strengths-based approach, often focusing on identifying personal strengths and using those to assist clients in problem solving and learning positive coping skills. Kristin values the importance of educating children and their families on mental health issues, and implementing strategies to use within a therapeutic setting, school and the home environment. Kristin collaborates with parents and other resources as needed to ensure that the needs of the child are met in the most successful way.
