Laurie Moffitt, LCPC

Saint Charles Campus

Laurie is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and School Counselor. She received her Masters Degree and Type 73 School Counselor Certification from National-Louis University.

Laurie has a passion for working with individuals over the life span and has experience working with children, adolescents, and their families in a clinical setting. She also currently works as a counselor in a local school district and is experienced at helping to bridge gaps between clients and schools.

Her treatment approach is individualized and CBT oriented. Her therapeutic technique helps clients focus on examining the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behavior, and then teaching them the skills to identify their unhealthy thought patterns, modifying their beliefs, relating to others in different ways and then changing their behavior. When working with young children, Laurie uses a child centered approach with qualities of play therapy to connect and help them understand and regulate their emotions. She works collaboratively with families and outside resources.

Laurie believes in personal growth and providing clients with the tools to become empowered to better navigate their relationships and life changes. Her experience includes issues such as ADHD, anxiety, anger management, at-risk youth, impulse control, social skills, self-esteem and depression.
