Shelby is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Illinois. She received her Masters in Social Work from Loyola University of Chicago with a specialization in Children and Families (Chicago, IL).

Shelby received her clinical training working in an adolescent partial hospitalization program where she provided individual, group, and family therapy to adolescents suffering from depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and self-injurious behaviors.

Shelby has experience in a variety of treatment settings, including outpatient private practice, partial hospitalization programs, and integrated primary care behavioral health. She approaches each therapy session warmly and with empathy, focusing on meeting the client where they are at and with the client’s personal goals in mind. Shelby believes that the therapeutic relationship is inherently collaborative and integrates the strengths of each client and family into the therapy process. When appropriate, Shelby loves to integrate play and other eclectic approaches in her work with clients.

Shelby is particularly skilled in working with individuals experiencing a variety of anxiety disorders and enjoys implementing elements of Exposure Therapy and Response Prevention into her work with clients. Other areas of specialty include identity development and formation, depression, and suicidal ideation.
