Chris O’Toole is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been providing social work services in the school setting for students in grades 6-12 for the past ten years.  Chris holds a Master of Science degree from Aurora University with an emphasis on therapeutic recreation and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago with an emphasis in school social work.

Chris has experience working with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of settings including:  therapeutic day school, public school, day camp, inpatient hospital, and correctional institutions.  Much of Chris’s career has focused on working with clients struggling in the areas of impulse control, emotional regulation, problem solving, selfawareness, perspective taking, and pro-social interaction skills.  She uses a variety of treatment modalities individualized to best serve the client.  Chris encourages family participation and offers parenting and behavior management support in an effort to increase generalization of skills learned within counseling sessions.  In her free time, Chris enjoys running, yoga, speed skating, reading, spending time with her son and walks with her dog.
