Teresa holds a Type 73 School Social Work License and is in the process of obtaining her LCSW. She earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from Roosevelt University. She then earned her Master of Social Work degree at Dominican University. Most recently Teresa has earned a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration. Teresa comes from years of providing social, emotional and behavioral support in the educational setting through direct social work services, behavior coaching, crisis support and providing professional learning to teams of educators.
Teresa specializes in working with children, adolescents and young adults who may be experiencing significant social, emotional and behavioral concerns. Teresa’s areas of expertise include behavior modification, psychological flexibility and social skills. Her experience includes providing therapeutic support to individuals who experience anxiety, depression, cognitive distortions, suicidal ideation and mood disorders. In treatment Teresa utilizes many evidenced based therapeutic techniques to fit the unique needs of her clients. When working with Teresa, she incorporates Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
