My name is Allyson and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have been providing mental health, crisis intervention, and social services since 2019. I obtained my BS in Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign and my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wheaton College. My focus is on children and adults of all ages with extensive training and experience in trauma, family dynamics, addiction, and autism.

Prior to coming to Riverview Counseling, I was a therapist in residential and inpatient settings. I’ve also worked with programs designed to support adolescents and their families, as well as experience providing in home therapy for kids with Autism and supporting their families.

My approach to counseling is to foster a safe and healthy environment to encourage healing as well as helping individuals build skills to meet their goals and needs. My main approach is Person Centered Therapy to build a therapeutic alliance and utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to help individuals explore and work towards their goals.

What I enjoy most about being a Licensed Professional Counselor is the opportunity to build relationships and journey with everyone in their life to create a life worth living.
In my free time I enjoy playing piano, violin, guitar, rock climbing, being with family, playing games, and being in my community.
