DeAnn received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. She then earned her master’s degree in Social Work from Loyola University in Chicago, IL. DeAnn belongs to the National Association of Social Workers. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years experience working with individuals and families and groups.

DeAnn has expertise in working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, self injury and eating disorders. She also works with couples and families to increase communication and resolve conflicts in relationships. DeAnn uses an integrated therapeutic approach to meet the needs of the individual and family. This can include the use of both CBT and DBT in her approach. Prior to joining Riverview Counseling DeAnn worked at Timberline Knolls, a treatment facility for adolescent girls and women with eating disorders, trauma, addiction, and self-harm, where she was a family therapist. She also held various positions at a residential adolescent treatment facility that included conducting individual, group and family sessions, administrative and training roles. Additionally DeAnn has worked in Community Mental Health and provided home-based therapy throughout Cook County area with a number of diverse families, situations and needs.

On a personal note, she is the mother of two school-aged children and understands the value and importance of providing your children with all the tools to reach their potential.
