Marla is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. She earned her Bachelor of Arts and her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Roosevelt University. She has a long history of helping children, teens, adults, and families by creating a trusting rapport, in a safe and nonjudgmental space, in order to best encourage emotional expression and reflection; all while providing active and empathic listening and support.
Her clients span a diverse range of concerns and needs, including depression, anxiety, trauma, behavioral disorders, parent coaching, and self-compassion. Marla will provide a variety of therapeutic interventions that may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
On a personal note, Marla is the mother of two school-aged children, who understands the value of parental support. In her free time, Marla enjoys spending time with her family traveling, baking, playing games, and watching movies. She also knows the significance of practicing self-care and mindfulness by coloring, listening to music, and connecting with nature through biking and walking her dog.
