Nikkita Carrington is a Licensed Social Worker with a Master of Social Work degree from Aurora University, where she specialized in school social Work. She previously worked as a school social worker with experience in primary and secondary settings. She maintains a Professional Educator License, School Social Work from the Illinois State Board of Education.
Nikkita has extensive experience providing social-emotional and behavioral support to students, collaborating closely with educators, and engaging families to foster student success. She has supported students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and school refusal ensuring every child receives the care and advocacy they need to thrive.
Nikkita worked in a community-based program as a Home Visitor, providing strength-based, family-centered support to parents and young children from pregnancy through early childhood. She is genuinely committed to empowering families and fostering resilience from the very beginning of a child’s development. Her work is rooted in compassion, resilience, and a deep belief in the potential for growth and healing.
Nikkita’s clinical experience spans across all ages, including children, adolescents, and adults. Her areas of focus include anxiety, emotional dysregulation, trauma, stress, and ADHD. She incorporates mindfulness practices and a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) framework to help clients recognize unhelpful patterns, build coping skills, and move toward emotional wellness. Nikkita is committed to building authentic connections with clients and walking beside them on their journey of healing and self-discovery.
Nikkita finds joy in traveling, self-care, and unwinding with a good love story or comedy. Most of all, she cherishes quality time with her husband, three sons, bonus daughter, family, and friends.
