Samantha is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Bachelors in Social Work at Illinois State University and her Master’s in Social Work at Aurora University. Samantha comes from community mental health, providing in-home therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and their families. Samantha has several years of experience supporting families through trauma, adoption, grief and loss, anxiety, parenting, and child welfare. She has worked with individuals and families in a variety of settings such as crisis intervention, child welfare, schools, and hospitals.
Samantha utilizes her Level 1 Theraplay training, TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention), ARC (Attachment, Regulation, and Competency, AAI (Adult Attachment Interview), and non-directive play therapy techniques in her work with children and families. Additionally, she draws from various therapeutic methodologies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Samantha aims to each and every individual feel supported, safe, and heard in the therapeutic space. She conveys to each child and family that therapy is not a punishment, rather it can be a safe space to share feelings, process experiences, learn coping skills, and have fun!
